Move over TGA, there’s a new games awards ceremony in town…
Just kidding, don’t move over TGA. The more awards ceremonies celebrating great games, the better. That’s exactly what the folks behind the “Thinky Games” magazine had in mind when they put together the brand new, inaugural “Thinky Awards”. Outside of the annual award ceremonies we have for escape rooms (including the fantastic TERPECAs, Golden Lock Awards, Lock and Key Awards), there aren’t really any dedicated just to puzzle video games. Until now, that is.
The nomination categories include:
- Thinky Game of the Year + Community Award
- Most approachable game
- Most challenging game (in a good way)
- Most innovative mechanics
- Best aha moment
- Most c̸̲̱̲͙̤͂̈̈͜u̵̡̲͇̙͈̻̠̖̒͂͑́̈́̄̂r̴͔̺͕̝̪͂̏͋̄ş̸̤̪̩̝͎̾̉̕e̵̼̦͎̎͗̾̿͆̆͆̕ḑ̷̪̮̣̜̝̙̝̀̅͋ game
- Best presentation
- Best free game
- Best DLC or expansion
- Most anticipated game
And a number of subgenre categories, including:
- Best thinky puzzle game
- Best thinky strategy game
- Best physical thinky game
- Best pen and paper puzzle

Nominations are open from now until December 29th, 2023. From January 5th, you’ll be able to vote from the nominations, and in February the final list will be announced.
